You show that you're a very talented vocalist as well as song writer, what are something in your childhood that brought you to this point? How did you get so good?
My parents said I started when I out the womb singing and snapping my fingers, but I beg to differ. Lol. I say that I started a 5 years old watching the Pointer Sisters sing. I loved how they harmonized. When I heard them I started looking for more harmony in music and pointed towards the Greats such as Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, and The Jackson 5. I loved these musicians and would often imitate them. When I was 5 yrs old I wrote my first song called “Cowboy”. I sang it everywhere until my family got sick of it. But even though they were sick of it they would sing it too. My parents then bought me a boom box with a built in tape recorder and it was over from there. The rest is history.
How would you describe the brand of music you create?
Well its more R&B Neo-Soul. I grabbed on to this underground type of music because of its difference from the other genres. I also learned that this type of music is timeless. You can always go back to it and relate to it from past to future. And it can hang with whatever music is most popular at the time. I describe my brand of music as timeless. I think most of my fans might agree with me on this.
I'm in love with the singles from your upcoming EP, "InEvitable," what's the whole concept around the project?
Why, Thank You. Well I wanted the album to portray triumph, describing things that I may have went through but overcame. I can still smile, even when I am hurting. Meaning no matter how down I was or how I wanted to give up, it was “InEvitable” that I do music. Music is my outlet and how I can express how I am feeling, or even how others are feeling. I may be used to brighten someone else's day. So this thing is bigger then me. I have a whole world to heal. Thats InEvitably my goal.
"InEvitable" is due this Spring. What should fans expect from to receive from the EP?
They can expect a versatility. Something that fans wouldn't originally expect from me. There is a song on the album called “Bless My Hood”. I began the song off rapping and no one thinks that its me. They only think I'm singing on it. I want everyone to see my versatility as a songwriter first and foremost. Thats the longevity of the business. Singing and rapping doesn't last but 20 yrs if your lucky. Songwriting can last a lifetime.
Where can we get our hands on your music and where can they see you live in person next?
Well I have an album release party coming in May. I won't release the date just yet because I want everyone to stay turned.
