I recently chatted with Molemen affiliate, Visual. He's currently working on his next project titled "Hello Hip Hop". We had a second to chop it up about his past & his future with Hip-hop. Check it out......

BFM: How have you earned the title "the hardest working independent artist in Chicago" & how do you maintain that same momentum today?
Visual: Well that title was given to me by my peers. I'm proud of it because I earned it. Since I dropped my first project in 2002 I hustled hard to make sure my music was heard. I was at every event selling Cd's to supporters and handing Cd's to promoters, D's & producers. I was performing somewhere in or around the city at least twice a month through out the year. I was entering MC battles, I was at open mics & traveling around the city recording songs with any rapper or product that was down to build.
As far as the momentum goes, it's different for me now. I'm pleased with what I've done locally and the last few years I've been more focused on making sure my music is being heard worldwide. So the work ethic hasn't changed but the momentum has shifted to places like France where I've been blessed enough to get booked for a couple of shows out there this summer.

BFM: Your Chicago Hip Hop History series is some very real talk! These songs sound like poetry & therapy to work though some of the shit in your past. How did you think of the concept of making it into a series & when does the next chapter begin?
Visual: Thanks. The series came to mind because for years I always wanted to let cats know how I personally experienced the Hip Hop scene in Chicago as I came up. It was originally going to be one song but then I realized I couldn't fit all the crazy stories, fights, battles, parties, beef, drama etc. in to only one song so I decided to start a series. The last song was episode 2.5 where I got personal and gave listeners some insight on what was going on in my life during the the time of the events I spoke about in episode 2.
The next chapter in the series will be episode 3 and it will follow where I left off in episode 2 where I end by mentioning the infamous battle between Juice and Eminem. I'm basically going to describe that event from what was told to me by my brother ( I didn't make the trip to Cincinnati for Scribble jam that year) and get into some of the other MC battles and events that went down around that same time.

BFM: You'll be rocking the SubT stage Wed. July 6th. Fill us in on what to expect & name a couple joints we'll hear that night?
Visual: Man, when I rock I give it my all. I bring nothing but energy. I love writing intricate lyrics and telling stories but when I'm on stage its more about the emotion and energy to me above anything else. I just get into a zone and let loose. That night I'll be rocking "Never sold crack" , "We gonna fly" and a couple other joints
