Coming soon to Lifetime is the film "Betty and Coretta". The movie will focus on the lives of Coretta Scott King, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s wife, and Betty Shabazz, Malcolm X's wife.
R&B Hip Hop Soul singer Mary J. Blige will play Shabazz and Angela Basset will play Coretta. Malik Yoba will also be featured in the film as Martin Luther King and Wood Harris from "Paid and Full" will play Malcolm X. Legendary actress Ruby Dee, wife of the late Ossie Davis will serve as narrator of the biopic film.
During the 90's Spike Lee produced and directed the documentary movie Malcolm X where Basset played the wife of Malcolm, Betty Shabazz. Basset has portrayed several roles as prominent figures including Tina Turner in the film "What's Love Got To Do With It". She also played Rosa Parks!
