According to the Chicago Tribune, around 10:30 a.m. a 22-year-old man was in serious condition after being shot in the abdomen and arm . The police reported that the young man was in an alley in the 300 block of West 42nd Street in the Fuller Park neighborhood on the South Side when someone shot him. He was then taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
About five hours later a 20-year-old man was fatally shot on the North Side in the 900 block of West Agatite Avenue, police said. According to police, the man was walking on a sidewalk eastbound on Agatite with a group of people, where he was shot several times in a nearby alley with a .45 caliber semiautomatic weapon. He was shot in the chest and pronounced dead on the scene.
A 22-year-old man was wounded in the arm in a gang-related shooting in the Back of the Yards neighborhood around 6:30 p.m. As reported by police he was in an alley near 50th and Wood streets when he heard gunshots and realized he'd been struck. He was rushed to the hospital and was reportedly in good condition.
In the South Austin neighborhood a 21-year-old man was standing in the front yard of his home in the 5000 block of West Ohio Street when an unknown man shot him in the back. He was rushed to Mt. Sinai where he was in stable condition.
Also around 6:30 p.m. the police responded to the 200 block of West 105th Street on the Far South Side and found four people with gunshot wounds. A 34-year-old woman was shot in the chest and left hand. A 2-year-old boy who the woman was putting into a car was shot in the back. Based on police reports the woman was transferred in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, and the boy was transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was listed in critical condition.
Five minutes later the police responded to two men shot in the 7000 block of South Honore Street in the West Englewood neighborhood. An 18 and 19-year-old were in a parked car when another vehicle drove up and someone inside began firing. They both suffered a graze to the leg and were taken to Holy Cross Hospital.
According to the Chicago Police News Affairs, at 7:35 p.m., a 26-year-old man died after being shot on the 9200 block of South Ada Street on the Far South Side. When police responded to call where shots were fired they found Larry Hardwin Jr., lying on a sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the head. He was later pronounced dead at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital at 7:53 p.m.
An hour after that shooting a 23-year-old was walking on a sidewalk in the 4400 block of West Palmer Street when a gray-colored sedan pulled up and a gunman fired shots. He was shot in the leg and taken to Community First Medical Center where he was in stable condition.
Before midnight in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, a 42-year-old man was in his car in an alley in the 100 block of South Pulaski Road when a man got inside his car, sat in the passenger seat and displayed a handgun. After struggling with the gunman the gun went off and he was shot in the right calf. He then drove himself to Swedish Covenant Hospital where he was in stable condition.
