A.M dropped his new mixtape "A Painted Thought" early this morning to the pleasure of the Chicago hip-hop community. Check the interview below & download the mixtape here.
BFM: You had been leaking some dope singles from your upcoming project, "A Painted Thought" explain the concept around the project?
A.M: My whole mindstate for this project was simple give the people "ME". I wanted to show the listeners and execs that artist can deliver a dope project without fabricating there art form to be excepted. I always kept three main factors in mind when I was creating these records on this mixtape/album. Those factors was remain TRUE to myself, have FUN, and stay FOCUSED on the task or task's at hand until everything was complete.
BFM: What's your favorite collab on there?
A.M: I really enjoyed every collab on this project everybody who was called upon showed up in a major way. If I had to chose one song that had a collab that would be "DREAMS". Its an amazing song that features a few artist from Chicago that are very talented. D2G, Storie Devareaux, Yaw and Khari. The song is about having a dream and doubters always teling you YOUR dream is not a logical one. If you aspire to be anything no matter what it is and you need a theme song to help you get through the process this is that song. Its produced by a producer also form Chicago named Sureknock Jones. We all just hit the studio, zoned out and made a timeless record.
BFM: What do you think fans will gather from your newest project?
A.M: Well hopefully when they hear this project they see how focused and how in tune I am with music and what it has to offer not just me but those who take an in depth listen. Theres 17 songs on "A Painted Thought" that express different feelings of A.M. and the way I think about life, hopefully those who check out the project can identify with at the minimal one of those 17 records. And if they do identify with at least one song they will see and understand that no matter whats your backround covers if you tell your story the way YOU want to tell it someone will at least identify with one of those stories your telling. Its more to life than being a drug dealer, killing, beng fly etc and thats what this project is about to show that other side of HipHop thats not getting showcased in toddays mainstream.
BFM: What's next for A.M as an artist? What moves do you see yourself making in the very near future?
A.M: Promoting this project heavy, and working on the next project which is all ready one song in. Im just keeping it moving forward and staying productive., I have to keep the ball rolling and keep hitting with new material.
