Lil Wayne Talks About Upcoming Album and Retirement

For nearly 21 years rapper Lil Wayne aka Dwayne Carter embraced the world of hip hop. He started out as Birdman, president of Young Money Records, protege and later became president of YMCMB (Young Money Cash Money Billionaires).

While New Orleans  rapper Master P is returning to the game, Weezy has announced that he's retiring. According to an interview with MTV, Wayne revealed "Tha Carter V" will be his last album. He said he's been rapping since the age of 8 and is ready to give up the mic and do some other things.

"I know y'all want me around for a little bit but Tha Carter V is my last album. I've been rapping since I was 8 years old. I'm 30 now. That's a long time and I like to do so many more things," Wayne explained.

Before Wayne turned 30 he said he was getting bored with today's music in an interview with DJ Drama. Last year he mentioned possible retirement in the XXL magazine.

Do you think it's time for Weezy to put down the mic?
