Recently, in Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane was a guest speaker at Crawford Long Middle School. Some of the parents, alumni members and Atlanta public school former students disapproved of Mane speaking to children.
According to The Atlanta-Journal Constitution Reports, a graduate from a public school in Atlanta said she was shocked when she heard about Mane speaking to the youth with his criminal background. She brought up his recent and past arrests. Parents who found out later about the speaking raised questions on Twitter and Facebook. They asked how was Gucci chosen to speak at their children's school.
A parent name Kevin Hall said they could have selected another individual "I don't think he was a good role model," Hall added.
What do you think about Gucci Mane speaking at a public middle school? Do you think rappers like Mane should be forbidden from being used as motivational role models for the youth?
