Usually when you first hear a song it's the beat that grabs your immediate attention. In the song "All Gold Everything" by Trinidad James the beat has a southern, catchy tune. Recently, old school rapper Too Short spoke about where the beat originally came from.
Almost 14 years ago Too Short released a single titled "I Luv", a slower version to the beat of "All Gold Everything". Short said he happened to look up James hit and his song came up. Short said he's not mad at all at James for using the music from his song.
"I can't tell you how many times I've turned to Parliament Funkadelic for inspiration and actually just outright and replayed or sampled a song. As long as we take care of everything properly it's all love, Short told Vlad Tv.
At least some rappers are not all about self!
