Rapper French Montana is mostly popular for the club banger hit "Pop That" featuring Uncle Luke on the hook. While the song may be a smash hit in the club and on the radio, Uncle Luke is demanding his cut.
According to reports, Luke and Montana both told their version of their story during and interview with Hot 97. Montana didn't give too much details on what occurred. He basically kept repeating what he heard Luke saying "French owe me some money". The rapper said he can' t owe Luke for something he doesn't own.
"You gotta own your product, it's owned by somebody named Lil J or something like that," Montana said.
Uncle Luke who said he doesn' t really know Montana and that Diddy invited him to be in a video but he didn't tell him about the song.
"They never told me the name of the song nor did they ever send me a copy of the song," He explained.
Luke added that there were conferences held where he heard Montana bragging about doing a song with him that he was never apart of. He said they still did the video even though he wasn't in it.
"I wasn't going to appear in anything I didn't hear or know anything about," Luke said on Hot 97.
He ended the interview saying he really had no problem with them using him on the song but they could have called and told him what was going on.
"Don't try to pull a fast one on me like this and then have me appear in the video without even a courtesy call," he added.
Luke didn't say for sure if he was going to sue Montana or not but he did say if he keeps up his little charade he will indeed file a lawsuit!
