Earlier this month former Fugees member Lauryn Hill was sentenced to three months in prison for failure to pay taxes. In the latest news, rapper Fat Joe could be the next celebrity facing prison for failing to pay taxes.
According to reports, Joe owes $700,000 for unpaid taxes for the years 2007 and 2008. Last year in December the "We Thuggin" rapper plead guilty to tax evasion. Joe tells MTV artists like himself hires people to manage their money. He said as soon as an artist make it in Hollywood they are introduced to fancy guys with bow ties who suppose to take care of money.
"And then you always see an artist or a celebrity or somebody like that going down for it and these guys never go down for it," Joe explained.
He also said that he's going to pay back the money he owes but he's not the blame for not paying his taxes on time.
Just like most celebrities Joe too had someone else in charge of his money. Is is safe to have others handling your money in this business? Of course not, unless you want to go to jail!
