This past Tuesday was rapper and actor Andre 3000's 38TH birthday. Unfortunately, for him it wasn't a happy celebration. The former Outkast member lost his mother the day after his birthday for unknown causes.
Sharon Benjamin-Hodo, Andre's mother, was found dead in her sleep in her home in Atlanta. Many of Dre's friends in the hip hop community sent their condolences. Instead of sending flowers the family asked that supporters give to the Starlight Camp, an organization she started at the New Morning Light Missionary Baptist Church.
Losing your loved one especially your mother the day after your birthday has to be one of the worse feelings in the world. Sharon was 58 years old at her time of death.
