D.M.C. Speaks On His Disappointment In Hip Hop

In a recent interview with Access Atlanta Darryl Mcdaniels aka DMC of the hip hop group Run DMC, spoke about his disappointment for the direction hip hop has gone. McDaniels explained that hip hop was created to go up against the things shown on networks like BET, MTV and VH1.

McDaniels feels we have not learned lessons from previous generations and we are not being responsible.

"And the people who want to be responsible are afraid because they don't get support," DMC explained.

The former Run DMC member also stated there is a lack of respect from the hip hop media in regards to Grandmaster Flash and Furious Five.

"I was kind of disappointed in the culture of hip hop. Grandmaster Flash was the first group to be inducted into the Rock Hall and people did not celebrate it," DMC said.

McDaniels said he was happy that they made the list but he wasn't happy about how Grandmaster Flash wasn't properly acknowledged.
