College Student Wins Scholarship From Wale




Rapper Wale may have lost Tiara Thomas but somebody out there appreciates his good deeds. In recent news the rapper gave a scholarship to a student at Hampton University.

According to reports, Lauren Pryor won a $25,000 scholarship called The Gifted from Wale. Pryor who is a sophomore at Hampton University won the scholarship by being the 24TH caller for 103 Jamz hip hop radio station. She said the station said to call between four and five and she called four or five times.

"I heard a man say, Hello, I didn't believe it. He told me there were millions of calls and he only picked up the phone 14 times nationwide," Pryor said.

The Psychology major student said winning the scholarship was truly a blessing. She said she almost didn't return to school due to expenses.

"I was exceedingly fortunate to receive this scholarship. It was truly a test of faith," she added.

Pryor received the prize at Wale's release party for "The Gifted" album. The album also ranked at number one on the Billboard charts.
