Previously, it was reported that Suge Knight of Death Row Records said he would rather be called a n***a rather than African American. Recently, rapper YG spoke about his usage of the N word in his latest single "My N****s". According to him, the N word is a form of friendship.
YG tells TMZ that people use the N word to uplift their friends by saying that's my homie, that's my friend, then it's love.
"The word has history to it and a lot of people been through a lot of that stuff because of that word so I feel what the people who be tripping off of it coming from but that word regardless, people don't like other people saying it. People are going to use it regardless," YG explained.
Like rapper YG people use the N word as a term of endearment but not everyone feels that way. It doesn't matter how the cons may feel about it African Americans are still going to use it. It's a different generation with a whole new mindset and it's not focused on their history. They trying to create new trends by turning negative quotes into positve. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? You be the judge!
