According to reports, Cincinnati Bengals Vontaze Burfict was fined $25,000 for purposely twisting two players ankles during last Sunday's game.
The linebacker was accused of twisting Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton and right end Greg Olsen after making touchdowns.
After reviewing the tape of the plays the league's office concluded that the incident was more evident on Newton than on Olsen.
As far as punishment Olsen feels Burfict should be suspended but cornerback Adam Jones defended Burfict saying he's not giving the benefit of the doubt on what he calls playing dirty. He said he doesn't feel Vontaze should be fined $25k for playing with great emotion.
"It is what it is. Vontaze will take that one on his chin. He can't change the way he plays," Jones added.
Based on reports Burfict's was warned that he's considered a repeat offender subject to escalating discipline and that any future incidents of this kind will result in his being summoned to the league's office.
Vontaze plans on appealing the fine but what do you think?
Is being fined enough? Should Vontaze Burfict have been suspended?
