According to TMZ, a loaded gun was found at security in Benzino's carry-on bag at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
The rapper was then arrested and taken to jail. He was later released on $3,000 bail.
Following the arrest Benzino addressed the incident by posting a message via Instagram.
"The gun is registered in my name, it's a misdemeanor charge and will be dismissed when I go to court," he explained in a post shared from his account. "I should have checked my bag first but I forgot, not that serious. I thank all of the people who have an open mind and are not so quick to judge. I don't have a felony on my record."
Maybe next time Benzino will check his bag before boarding a plane!
