Former "American Idol" Finalist Sentenced To 45 Days In Jail

Friday, January 16th Former "American Idol" finalist LaKisha Jones will be reporting to jail for the craziest thing.

According to the Flint Journal, the 34-year-old singer was ordered to serve 45 days in jail. She was found guilty of civil contempt for failing to pay for her father's Lonnie Jones nursing home bills.

LaKisha who didn't attend her hearing due to taking care of her sick children can avoid going to jail if she pays over $5000 including $2000 in attorney fees, according to her attorney Christopher J. Ebbott.

Here it is people are getting away with murder and this woman has to go to jail because she didn't pay a bill. What is the world coming to?

Hopefully, LaKisha has some people she can reach out to so she won't have to go to jail. It's unfortunate that she has to leave her dad's side all because of Michigan's overly strict justice system.
