Video: J.Grigdes - Wack Rappers

A Master of Ceremonies (MC), during hip-hop’s prime, was compelled to maintain a certain allegiance to black youth populations and subgroups within the hip-hop community. It is an ideological stand for any MC to sell one’s soul to what hip-hop artist and mogul Jay-Z said in 1996 song titled and applied motto “D’Evils” of capitalism and incorporation as one sells the art form and lives life. The hip-hop community frequently calls an MC to “keep it real” and maintain an urban identity.

Power 92 personality and hip-hop artist J. Grigdes replaces the “Master of Ceremonies” with the slogan and titled single “Wack Rappers.” This hard edge single challenges MCs’ to be consistent in flow, become great storytellers, shed uniqueness, have versatility, and engage in thought provoking content to stimulate minds. “Wack Rappers” advises MCs to Watch The Throne. Like Nas, J. Grigdes “Destroy and Rebuild.”
