Da Brat Speaks On Iggy, Mariah Carey & New Music

Recently, rapper Da Brat appeared on Dish Nation where she talked about the female rappers of today, how she feels about Nicki and Iggy and new music. She also revealed that there could be a reality show coming soon.

The Chicago rapper was very candid when she spoke on the break-up between Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. She said she and Carey are still friends. In fact she said the singer is one of her best friends. Da Brat also described Cannon as a great person, according to S2S.


"They had their issues just like every married couple; they’re moving forward; she is and so is he,” Da Brat said.

While it's been said that Iggy sounds similar to Da Brat the "Funkdafied" rapper disagrees.

"People tell me Iggy sounds a lot like me. I don’t hear it, but so many people tell me,” she said. “I feel like she got her own style; Brat is gonna be Brat…there’s only one Brat. I take it as a compliment,” Da Brat said.

Da Brat said she loves both Nicki Minaj and Iggy but she wants to build a platform to help to promote female rappers.


“One of my main goals though, is to reunite all female MCs,” she said. “I love Nicki Minaj; I love Iggy, but it’s so many of us that are still out here doing our thing and grinding hard that we need that platform. So, if possible, I’m going to give us a platform somehow to promote female rappers up and coming and the legends like myself,” Da Brat added.

Da Brat also said she's working on a new mixtape with Jermaine Dupri.
