Sister 2 Sister magazine ran by Jamie Foster Brown has filed for bankruptcy. This is bad news for the African American community because there's not many magazines that represent their culture like Sister 2 Sister.

As reported by Eurweb,  has filed for bankruptcy protection and has put its print edition on hiatus as it focuses more on its online content, according to the Maynard Institute’s Journal-Isms column.

Jamie Foster Brown confirmed the news on Monday. She issued a statement via telephone to the Journal-Isms saying “The community does not want us to go away."

She added that she especially felt a responsibility to prisoners who “didn’t have a voice” and whom she published in the magazine.

“We wanted to teach people through celebrities,” she said. “God comes through other people.” Working with Johnson, she said, “I saw how much power the celebrities have,” Brown said.

Jamie launched Sister 2 Sister magazine in September 1988. Many celebrities have been featured in the magazine and have graced the cover of the publication.

While the magazine will be put on hold S2S readers and fans can still check out content on http://s2smagazine.com/!
