Last year female emcee Nicki Minaj was nominated for several awards in the 2012 Grammy's including Best Rap Album and Best New Artist. Unfortunately, this year the Young Money queen received zero nominations. Drake and Lil Wayne have been nominated in several categories.
This news comes after Minaj called into Hot97 demanding that they stop playing her music. Cortez Bryant, member of Young Money was upset about Nicki not being nominated for anything. He went on Twitter saying he's proud of Lil Wayne and Drake for their noms and expressed how he felt about Nicki being left out.
"They was on some bulls**t for not nominating @nickiminaj," Cortez tweeted.
Why Nicki won't be nominated? According to reports, "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded" release in April made it to the Grammy's deadline, but neither "Starships" or "Pound The Alarm" was good enough to be placed in a catagory.
This could be why Minaj was so upset with radio stations not playing more of her songs. Would she have made it to any catagories with any of her other hits? Guess we will never find out!
