Love and Hip Hop New York's reality star and rapper Joe Budden has made it known that he had a drug addiction in the past. Recently, in an interview with Fuse he addressed his past battles and how he's coping today.
During the interview Budden said he began using drugs at age 12 or 13. He said he checked in rehab at 16 but was out at 17.
"Got a record deal at 20 and went 14 years without a drink or a drug," Budden said.
So what happened?
Last year during the 2013 Summer Jam Budden relapsed. He said he was extremely high while performing at concerts.
"I was definitely on stage at Summer Jam last year being micromanaged high out of my mind," Budden added.
With the help of rapper Eminem Budden was guided towards sobriety.
"Em has his own struggles so he identifies. So that was great to have somebody," he said.
In regards to his Love and Hip Hop New York cast mate Consequence Budden said as much as he wanted to f**k him up every time he sees him but he's not on that path!
"We have a lot to lose today so I'd rather not look like that," Budden said.
