Michael Phelps Suspended Following DUI Arrest

Last week it was reported that USA Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps was arrested in Baltimore. He was charged with DUI, excessive speed and crossing double lane lines in the Fort McHenry tunnel on Interstate 95. 

As a result to the charges, it was announced by the USA Olympic Committee that Phelps has been suspended from the USA Swimming competition and he will be withdrawn from the 2015 FINA World Championships team. He also has to forfeit his funding from the national governing board for six months.

Phelps later tweeted that he will be entering a program to better himself. He didn' t say specifically what kind of program but based on his charges, it's safe to say alcohol is the first guess!
