Jay-Z Under Fire For Dishing Out Expensive Gifts

Pro baseball player Robinson Cano  joins athletes Kevin Durant, Geno Smith, Skylar Diggins and Victor Cruz in Jay-Z's Roc Nation Sports. As a result to joining Roc Nation Cano received a Shawn Carter Classic Fusion watch by Hoblot that cost $33,900.

Before Cano received a watch Skylar Diggins received a Mercedes Benz following his graduation from Mendoza College of Business.

Although it may seem harmless that Jay-Z and Roc Nation has given away such expensive gifts he could be in violation of the MLBPA (Major League Baseball Players Association).

According to the Major League Baseball Players Association, no player agent or applicant is to provide or receive money or anything of value to any player or anyone associated with that player. It also states that any gift given in the value of $500 or more shall be reported to the MLBPA.

We all know a Hoblot watch and a Mercedez Benz is more than $500 but it probably wouldn't be a problem is some of that money was used to help the children, the homeless and unemployed veterans who are in desperate need.
