Which New York Rapper Is Breaking Into Film?

Last year during the Summer rapper Nas released his eleventh and his last album with Def Jam titled "LIfe Is Good". The album ranked number one of the Billboard charts with 149,000 copies sold in it's first week.

This past September Nas was honored with the Nasir Jones Hip Hop fellowship at the Harvard University. Recently, it was announced that the Queens rapper is breaking into film.

According to reports, rapper Nas will be the executive producer of the documentary film "Shake The Dust". Directed by Adam Sjoberg the film is about how the social impact break dancing has across the world. Original music for the film will also be by Nas.

In a statement Nas expressed how seeing what the kids are doing reminds him of why he fell in love with hip hop. He said after he heard about Sjoberg's vision he was excited to help bring the film to a global audience who need to hear a surprising message of empowerment.

In the past Nas has worked on other productions such as the Mike Tyson documentary in 2008.
