First it was the east coast then the west coast now it's the south claiming to be running not just hip hop but music overall. In the beginning it was Trinidad James who made comments about the South currently running hip hop.
Waka Flocka Flame agreed with James saying the South runs music period.
"They don't just run the region, one state, one genre, the South run music. That's just what it is. You know what I mean?" Flocka said in an interview with Vlad Tv.
Waka reflected on one of Kendrick Lamar's verse where he said the South is still winning.
"It's friendly competition. Some people just get carried away," Flocka added.
The South has been at the top of their game but Hip Hop was originated in New York which is the East so they will always be on top no matter who's borrowing their shine temporarily!
